Samir Wadke, MBA, Vice President of Business Development & Co-Founder
Mr. Wadke has led the strategic operations of the Company since its founding in 2010 and has over 19 years of cross-functional business experience. He previously consulted for early-stage lifesciences companies on corporate planning and project management. From 2007-2009, he worked in Business Development for VGX Pharmaceuticals (now Inovio Pharmaceuticals – NYSEMKT: INO), where he played a significant role in both its integration of ADViSYS and merger with Inovio, and participated in negotiations that resulted in several license agreements and other sources of funding. He previously held roles in finance, marketing, and strategy at JP Morgan, MB Financial, and UBS. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S.E. from the University of Michigan.
Samuel Evans, MS, Director of Product Development
Mr. Evans’ work with the Company includes making Optimum TAVs and testing them primarily in the left-heart simulator and accelerated wear tester. His work has also been critical to designing the Company’s delivery catheters and assisting in pre-clinical studies. Prior to joining the company in the fall of 2010, Mr. Evans’ research was on interactions between human anatomy and peripheral arterial stents in the femoro-popliteal region at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSMT), and on the development of the heart and its greater vasculature in the mouse model using different genetic approaches at the University of Utah. He has also worked as an animal specialist for World Heart, Inc. where he collected data and assisted with a GLP-compliant study of an investigational LVAD device implanted in calves. Mr. Evans has an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from SDSMT and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Utah with minors in Chemistry and Music.
Nikhil Heble, PharmD, JD, Counsel, Secretary, & Co-Founder
Mr. Heble is a registered patent attorney with significant experience handling intellectual property related matters, including patent procurement, infringement and validity studies, due diligence, and client counseling; particularly in the areas of diagnostics, medical devices, controlled-release delivery forms, immunomodulators, vaccines, bioadhesive films, synthetic processes, polymer-based coatings, enzymes, liquid and semi-solid formulations, nanotechnology, nutraceuticals, catalysts, and oxidizing agents. His experience also includes acquiring and licensing patents, as well as litigation.
Prior to Thubrikar Aortic Valve, Inc., Mr. Heble held the position of Senior Patent Counsel for the in-house patent department of a Fortune 500 consumer products company, where he was responsible for developing and managing the patent portfolio and business interests related to its largest business unit. Mr. Heble began his legal career in private practice with a large Philadelphia-based law firm.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Heble worked as a pharmacist at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his experience at Jefferson, Mr. Heble has pharmacy experience in both government and industry settings.
